That's the question on the lips of the narrator of this tale about flying saucers, zombies and cardboard tombstones. A pair of aliens, angered by the "stupid minds" of planet Earth, set up shop in a California cemetery. Their plan: to animate an army of the dead to march on the capitals of the world. (The fact that they have only managed to resurrect three zombies to date has not discouraged them.) An intrepid airline pilot living near the cemetery must rescue his wife from this low-budget terror. "Can you prove it *didn't* happen?" Plot Summary for Akira (1988) Kaneda is a bike gang leader whose close friend Tetsuo gets involved in a government secret project knowned as Akira. Led by the pigs Snowball (Lenin) and Napoleon (Stalin), the animals attempt to create a utopian society. Soon, however, Napoleon gets a taste for power, drives out Snowball, and establishes a totalitarian regime as brutal and corrupt as any human society. Manor Farm becomes a world where all animals are equal--but some are more equal than others. Summary written by David Rickard A direct allegory to the rise of Stalinist Russia, this film combines Orwells parable with animatronics and voice characterizations by popular actors. Following a speech made by a venerable pig named Old Major (Lenin), the animals of Manor Farm form their own philosophy of Animalism (Communism), and lead a successful revolution orchestrated primarily by the pig Snowball (Trotsky) who tries to implement Old Majors ideas to the letter. Snowballs idealism does not save him when he is exiled by a more ambitious pig named Napoleon (Stalin) who seizes power over the farm, and proceeds to reshape Old Majors ideas to his own liking, and bringing the animals into a darker existence than they had ever dreamed. Summary written by Tommx {tommx@zzapp.org} Film adaptation of George Orwell's novel, an allegory of Russian Communism. The animal inhibitants of an English farm, spurred on by dreams of dominating the earth and ruling together and equally, take over, and at first all is well. But then Napolean the pig decides he wants a little more power. He ousts his opponent, Snowball, and turns the farm into a corrupt society, assuring the animals that everything is fine, when in fact that is most certainly not true. Summary written by Tommy Peter Plot Summary for Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)

The movie starts out with Arthur, King of the Britons, looking for knights to sit with him at Camelot. He finds many knights including Sir Galahad the pure, Sir Lancelot the brave, the quiet Sir Bedevere, and Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir Lancelot. They do not travel on horses, but pretend they do and have their servants bang coconuts to make the sound of horse's hooves. Through satire of certain events in history (witch trials, the black plague) they find Camelot, but after literally a quick song and dance they decide that they do not want to go there. While walking away, God (who seems to be grumpy) come to them from a cloud and tells them to find the Holy Grail. They agree and begin their search. While they search for the Grail, scenes of the knight's tales appear and why they have the name they have. Throughout their search they meet interesting people and knights along the way. Most of the characters die; some through a killer rabbit (which they defeat with the holy hand grenade), others from not answering a question right from the bridge of Death, or die some other ridiculous way. In the end, King Arthur and Sir Bedevere are left and find the Castle Arrrghhh where the Holy Grail is. They are met by some French soldiers who taunted them earlier in the film, so they were not able to get into the castle. This "X-factor" allows the children to perform extraordinary feats - flight, telekinetics, laser beams from the eyes and more. One Dr. Charles Xavier gathers the children to a place where he can train them to use their powers for themselves and the forces of good he dubs these children his X-men and hijinks ensue. Summary written by Zach Wilson {zcwilson@naz.edu} Plot Summary for X2 (2003) Already living in a society that mistrusts them, the mutants are faced with even more discrimination after an unforeseen enemy - who may be a mutant with extraordinary powers - launches a devastating attack. The news of the assault causes a public outcry against the mutants, including renewed support for the Mutant Registration Act, and William Stryker, a military leader rumored to have experimented on mutants (possibly including Wolverine), is among the most vocal supporters of the legislation. Stryker puts into motion a plan to eradicate the mutants and begins an offensive on the X-Men mansion and school. Magneto, having escaped from his plastic prison, forms an unlikely alliance with Professor Xavier to stop Stryker. Meanwhile, Wolverine heads north to investigate his past. The world has become intensively information oriented and humans are well-connected to the network. Crime has developed into a sophisticated stage by hacking into the interactive network. To prevent this, Section 9 is formed. These are cyborgs with incredible strengths and abilities that can access any network on Earth. Princess Mononoke A prince is infected with an incurable disease by a possessed boar/god. He is to die unless he can find a cure to rid the curse from his body. It seems that his only hope is to travel to the far east. When he arrives to get help from the deer god, he finds himself in the middle of a battle between the animal inhabitants of the forest and an iron mining town that is exploiting and killing the forest. Leading the forest animals in the battle is a human raised by wolves, Princess Mononoko. I found your message on the site today and then checked my spam filter. You are message 5048 of 67494. Sorry you did not hear from me, however, I did send you an Acquaintance ID weeks ago. I did it after you asked me if you could post about the Guerilla Drive-In. So if you check your mail I am sure you will find that. I will resend the original message after I send this. I remember sending you this because I saved your ID in my wallet so I could give it to you. (you will probably want another it is folded now) For others of you out there. I do read my mail, but I get sooooo much spam that I have to do it at certain times (like an hour before an SMGDI event). I am responsible for and participate in quite a few projects out there and as a result must maintain a type of web presents that results in loads of spam. I will be handing the project off to Alex in another two months when I move to California, I am sure he will be more responsive until the spammers find him too. I just subscribed to this group of filmfanatics. I've read the archives enough to have seen that your past showings include some of 'my' favorites....Boondock Saints, Donny Darko...whoa! So, at risk of sounding kind of stupid....how do I find out about the next showing? Do I just sit on my butt and wait for the reminder??? Please let me know....I would have LOVED to have seen Boondock again. And I bring really really good munchies anywhere I go. >grin< Looking forward to getting to know y'all. Thanks. _________________________________________________________________ Search—Your way, your world, right now! http://imagine-windowslive.com/minisites/searchlaunch/?locale=en-us&FORM=WLMTAG From smeyer@nccn.net Wed Apr 4 10:49:51 2007 Return-Path: X-Original-To: smgdi@dod.net Delivered-To: smgdi@dod.net Received: from darkside.dod.net (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by mail.dod.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 3D4CCF02EF for ; Wed, 4 Apr 2007 10:49:50 +0000 (UTC) Received: from localhost [127.0.0.1] by darkside.dod.net with SpamAssassin (2.61 1.212.2.1-2003-12-09-exp); Wed, 04 Apr 2007 10:49:51 +0000 From: Viagra.com To: Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2007 10:49:49 +0000 (UTC) Message-Id: <20070404014937.2771.qmail@pool-138-88-213-210.res.east.verizon.net> X-Spam-Level: ***** X-Spam-Flag: YES X-Spam-Status: Yes, hits=5.2 required=5.0 tests=HTML_MIME_NO_HTML_TAG, MIME_HTML_NO_CHARSET,MIME_HTML_ONLY,RCVD_IN_DYNABLOCK,RCVD_IN_SORBS autolearn=no version=2.61 X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.61 (1.212.2.1-2003-12-09-exp) on darkside.dod.net MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="----------=_461382CF.FC0D37CC" Subject: [SMGDI] *****SPAM***** Online MedHelp X-BeenThere: smgdi@dod.net X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.3 Precedence: list Reply-To: Southern Maine Guerilla Drive-In List List-Id: Southern Maine Guerilla Drive-In List List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , X-List-Received-Date: Wed, 04 Apr 2007 10:49:51 -0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------------=_461382CF.FC0D37CC Content-Type: text/plain Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Spam detection software, running on the system "darkside.dod.net", has identified this incoming email as possible spam.
