    all that needs to be done to kill a database which also kills the user that owns the databse *i believe* is via the mysqladmin command...

    rootprompt> mysqladmin -p drop foobar

    the -p is the arguement for prompting the user for a passwd. if no user is specified via a -u then user root is assumed.
